Schwander action
Henri Schwander was a piano maker who set up his business in Paris in 1878, then became a specialist maker of actions for upright and grand pianos around 1880-1890. They are made according to each piano company’s requirements. This action was present on most German pianos from the beginning of the twentieth century, and Gaveau used them from 1915 onwards. Schwander was also a subcontractor producing Pleyel actions.
